It so happened to be a special night at Croce's when my wife and I visited San Diego. For one, I had the opportunity to meet Ingrid Croce (Jim Croce's wife when he died in 1973) and her husband Jim Rock. Both took time to talk to this old fan and treated us like family.
Also, that evening was special one as Cathy Guthrie and Amy Nelson, daughter of Willie Nelson, performed a set at Croce's. It had such a fantastic atmosphere. You'll see the shots from the performance, including Jim and Ingrid, at the end of the video.
I'm especially grateful I have this footage as it has been announced Croce's will be shutting its doors at this location. The good news is that there are plans in the works for the restaurant to continue elsewhere, but still, it's sad to lose such a landmark.
