Rita and Masataka Taketsuru are considered the Mother & Father of Japanese Whisky by most Japanese Whisky lovers today. This was a story of love and enduring the hardships of World War 2 Japan which they both survived. The two together built up Nikka, one of the largest Japanese Whisky Companies in the world today.
