The boss brought in our 2007 Ford Explorer and told me that it was overdue for a service...but I noticed the Check Engine light was on. The error codes were P0340 and P0344 - both indicating a low voltage/intermittent signal fault in the Bank 1 Camshaft Position Sensor. Visual inspection of the sensor indicated a pretty substantial oil leak, most likely caused by a failed o-ring that allowed oil seep into the electronics and short out the sensor.
Follow along to see how to replace the sensor - a very easy repair that just about anyone can do in their own driveway or garage. Thanks for watching, and Merry Christmas!
