Garron Noone on inventing his catchphrase and dealing with agoraphobia

Anyone who has ever heard of Garron Noone will have heard his famous catch phrase ‘Follow me, I’m delicious’.

The Mayo comedian was named as one of TikTok’s breakout stars of 2023, thanks to his hugely popular reviews of food, Irish towns and everything else that pops into his head.

Each video ends with him instructing the viewer, ‘Follow me, I’m delicious’.

On The Anton Savage Show, Garron said it wasn’t something he planned to say the first time.

“After I made about 10 videos, one of my videos got like 50,000 views or something,” he said.

“At the time, I thought that was absolutely incredible.

“So, I was like, ‘If I just keep making a video everyday, people will be forced to watch - I’ll keep annoying people and they’ll definitely watch one of them.’”

Garron started making videos every day but said some of them were “really bad”.

“One particular video wasn’t funny at all and I just said something random at the end of the video,” he said.

“It was, ‘Follow me, I’m delicious’ and after that video, if I didn’t say it, people were like, ‘Why aren’t you saying, ‘Follow me, I’m delicious’?’

“It was totally accidental.”

Clearly, it struck a chord with many of his followers and his catchphrase is something he cannot get away from.

“A lot of people don’t even know my name, they just shout ‘delicious’ across the street,” he said.

“‘Delicious, how are you getting on?

“It turned out to be really good branding, it wasn’t on purpose but I’ll take it.”

Once his videos were mainly watched by Irish people, now they are watched by people all around the world and get millions of views.

“It’s mad,” he said.

“Ireland is actually my third highest view - so, it’s Britain, then it’s America, then Ireland.

“Up until about six months ago, it was mainly Ireland.

“They all love the Irish, they all love the Irish humour.”
