The Sheesh Mahal, or "Palace of Mirrors," is a stunning 17th-century palace located within the Lahore Fort in Pakistan. Built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in 1631-32, this ornate white marble pavilion is famed for its intricate mirror work (aina kari), pietra dura inlay, and gilded decorations. Originally designed as a private sanctuary for the imperial family, its thousands of tiny mirrors create a dazzling effect, especially when illuminated. Later, Sikh Maharaja Ranjit Singh added to the palace. As a jewel within the Lahore Fort, the Sheesh Mahal is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, representing a remarkable blend of Mughal artistry and architectural splendor.
