NOTICE/CAUTION: This experiment is doing production in real time in a four channel hybrid set. Your files are loaded as you would load tracks in a DJ set. 4 files on four channels of a Pioneer mixer.
Then mixing in real time using these four files in attempt to make a track in real time on the fly.
While this concept isn't groundbreaking, it has never been done quite like this. My attempt here was to celebrate 50 years of buying vinyl records and squeeze it into a 5 minute track.
50 years ago in October & November of 1975, KC & The Sunshine Band had a #1 hit with "That's The Way I Like It". My record collection started as a 9 year old and this was my entry point.
For a track that took as long to make as it does to listen too, there is magic here. It's production on the fly. There are no cue points, it's just open channels on 4 decks. What is possible with sync which is something that we have been using since the 80's to make tracks. Midi of course.
