It was a sunny, warm, midsummer day, when a 12 year old boy discovered the body of Yvonne Laker on the 3.25 train from Southampton to Reading. Inquiries by police revealed that she had been alone in the carriage - until Winchester, when a young man had boarded the train. When the train arrived at Basingstoke the man was seen hurrying away... But when police found the man he had a strange story to tell - the police didn't believe him and charged him with murder.
