When it comes to bullish options trading strategies (e.g. long calls, short puts, put credit spreads, call debit spreads, covered calls, etc.), it can be tempting to use the strategies that have the most upside potential. Simply buying calls, for example, is a very common approach in this regard. However, is the long call actually an effective strategy? Well in this video, I will perform a real backtesting analysis with buying calls on SPY vs selling puts on SPY. As you will see with over 500+ trades and 10 years of data, the results are overwhelmingly in favor of short puts being the best way to get bullish on stocks!
