Video filmed at 19:12
Route: Medway Valley Line
Between Wateringbury (WTR) and East Farleigh (EFL) Stations
Crossing type: Manually Controlled Barrier crossing with CCTV (MCB-CCTV)
Filming location: B2163 Teston Lane, Teston (ME18 5BX)
An awkward-to-film level crossing on a busy road through the Teston Country Park to the west of Maidstone, beside the River Medway in Kent. Not usually the kind to post videos mainly centred on (relatively) minor crossing alterations, I filmed this video after spotting a brand-new alarm sounder 'tip' on the crossing's Maidstone-bound side, and decided to publish it while it (and the alarm) is still fresh. This is the first 'Moflash' generation 'Yodalarm' sounder to appear on the Medway Valley Line, and these are the most current generation of the alarm seen in an increasing number of places. The alarm it replaced was original when the crossing was converted to CCTV in 2013, although it became increasingly hard to hear over the traffic at times. The other, lower-pitched alarm sounder from Circa. 2016 still remains operational.
A Strood-bound local service is seen in this video, having not too long left Wateringbury and passing the signal box from where this crossing is controlled.
