Vivienne Westwood’s Anglophilia collection, presented for Fall 2002, drew on British royal imagery and historical court dress. The runway featured a large-scale standard positioned at the end of the catwalk, depicting a unicorn and a rampant lion, referencing heraldic symbols associated with the British monarchy.
The garments featured tailored silhouettes with structured shoulders and pronounced curved sleeves. Design details included sleeves cut open, slashed, and tied at the back with trailing ribbons, creating exposed and partially undone effects. Tweeds were combined with rich brocades in a subdued color palette. The collection translated historical dress elements into contemporary forms through cut, layering, and proportion.
