Now that Summer 2022 is officially over, you may understand the deep feeling of reflection, as the late singer/songwriter John Prine uses this metaphor skillfully, as his musings contain the reality of far too many premature deaths resulting from losing their battle with drug addiction, many times leaving young ones without a parent—
“Summer’s end came faster than we wanted.”
I tried to capture the melancholy of “Summer’s End” in this guitar arrangement with a reoccurring dissonant drone.
I’ve also included on-screen lyrics for reference if you aren’t familiar with the song.
