🐝 Requeening defensive beehives. Improving genetics to combat Varroa. October 2024.

🐝 In this video, I requeen a couple of hives, which have been defensive.

🐝 Defensive hives are undesirable because they are challenging to inspect. They are also a hazard around the house with horses, pets & visitors.

🐝 The queens that are removed are being saved to be put to work making comb in mini mating nucs

🐝 The queens were sourced from Denmar Apiaries in Queensland.
