अखलाक मोब लिंचिंग केस में उत्तर प्रदेश की योगी सरकार को बड़ा झटका लगा है। गौतम बुद्ध नगर जिले की सूरजपुर कोर्ट ने सरकार की उस याचिका को खारिज कर दिया है, जिसमें आरोपियों के खिलाफ दर्ज मुकदमा वापस लेने की मांग की गई थी। कोर्ट ने साफ कहा कि यह अर्जी पूरी तरह आधारहीन है और इसे स्वीकार करने का कोई कानूनी आधार नहीं बनता।
यह मामला 28 सितंबर 2015 का है, जब दादरी के बिसाहड़ा गांव में गोमांस की अफवाह के बाद भीड़ ने मोहम्मद अखलाक की पीट-पीटकर हत्या कर दी थी और उनके बेटे दानिश को गंभीर रूप से घायल कर दिया था।
इस फैसले के बाद एक बार फिर न्यायपालिका की स्वतंत्रता, सरकार की भूमिका और कानून के शासन पर बहस तेज हो गई है।

In a major setback to the Yogi Adityanath government, the Surajpur Court of Gautam Budh Nagar has rejected the Uttar Pradesh government’s plea to withdraw charges in the Akhlaq Mob Lynching Case. The court termed the application baseless and said there was no legal ground to allow withdrawal of the case.
The case dates back to September 28, 2015, when Mohammad Akhlaq was lynched by a mob in Bisahada village, Dadri, over rumours of beef consumption. His son Danish was critically injured in the attack.
