ಅದು ಶೌರ್ಯ, ಗೌರವ ಮತ್ತು ಪೀಳಿಗೆಗಳಿಂದ ಉಳಿದಿರುವ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಯ ಉತ್ಸವ.

ವಿವಾಹಕ್ಕೆ ಮುನ್ನ ನಡೆಯುವ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ವಿಧಿಯೇ ಬಾನ್ (Baan).
ಈ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ವರ ಮತ್ತು ವಧುವಿಗೆ ಹಳದಿ ಹಚ್ಚಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.
ಬಾನ್ ವಿಧಿ ಶುದ್ಧತೆ, ಶುಭತೆ ಮತ್ತು ದುಷ್ಟಶಕ್ತಿಗಳ ನಿವಾರಣೆಯ ಸಂಕೇತವಾಗಿದೆ.
ಮಹಿಳೆಯರು ಸಾಂಪ್ರದಾಯಿಕ ಗೀತೆಗಳನ್ನು ಹಾಡುತ್ತಾ ಸಂಭ್ರಮಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ.

ಬಾನ್ ನಂತರ ನಡೆಯುವ ವಿಶೇಷ ನೃತ್ಯವೇ ಘೂಮರ್ (Ghumar).
ಸಾಂಪ್ರದಾಯಿಕ ರಾಜಸ್ಥಾನಿ ಉಡುಪಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಮಹಿಳೆಯರು ವೃತ್ತಾಕಾರವಾಗಿ ನೃತ್ಯ ಮಾಡುವ ಈ ಘೂಮರ್,
ಸೌಂದರ್ಯ, ಸ್ತ್ರೀಶಕ್ತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಸಂತಸದ ಪ್ರತೀಕವಾಗಿದೆ.
ವಿವಾಹದ ದಿನದಂದು ಆರಂಭವಾಗುವ ಭವ್ಯ ಮೆರವಣಿಗೆಯನ್ನು ನಿಕಾಸಿ (Nikasi) ಎಂದು ಕರೆಯಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.
ವರನು ಕುದುರೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ರಾಜಪುತ್ ಉಡುಪಿನಲ್ಲಿ, ಕತ್ತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಪಗಡಿಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಹೊರಟು ಬರುತ್ತಾನೆ.
ಢೋಲ್–ನಗಾಡಾ ಶಬ್ದಗಳ ನಡುವೆ ನಡೆಯುವ ಈ ನಿಕಾಸಿ ರಾಜಪುತ್ ಶೌರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಪ್ರತಿಬಿಂಬಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.
ವಿವಾಹ ಮಂಟಪದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಯುವ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಧಾರ್ಮಿಕ ವಿಧಿಯೇ ಚಾಕ್ ಪೂಜೆ (Chak Puja).
ಮಂಟಪದ ಬಳಿ ಪವಿತ್ರ ಚಾಕನ್ನು ಚಿತ್ರಿಸಿ, ದೇವತೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಪೂಜೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.
ಈ ಪೂಜೆ ವಿವಾಹ ಯಶಸ್ವಿಯಾಗಲಿ, ಹೊಸ ಜೀವನ ಶುಭಕರವಾಗಲಿ ಎಂಬ ಆಶಯವನ್ನು ಸೂಚಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.
ಅನಂತರ ಅಗ್ನಿಯನ್ನು ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯಾಗಿ ಫೇರಾ ಮತ್ತು ಸಪ್ತಪದಿ ನೆರವೇರುತ್ತದೆ.
ಏಳು ಹೆಜ್ಜೆಗಳ ಮೂಲಕ ವಧು–ವರರು ಪರಸ್ಪರ ಜೀವನಪೂರ್ತಿ ಬೆಂಬಲ ನೀಡುವ ಪ್ರತಿಜ್ಞೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾರೆ.

A Rajput wedding is not just a marriage—
it is a celebration of honour, bravery, heritage, and centuries-old customs.
One of the most important pre-wedding rituals is Baan.
Following Baan, women perform the graceful Ghoomar dance.
Dressed in traditional Rajasthani attire, they dance in circles to folk music.
Ghoomar represents femininity, happiness, and cultural pride.

On the wedding day begins the grand procession known as Nikasi.
The groom, dressed in traditional Rajput attire with a turban and sword, rides a horse.
Accompanied by drums and music, Nikasi reflects the warrior spirit and royal legacy of the Rajputs.
At the wedding venue, a sacred ritual called Chak Puja is performed.
A holy diagram is drawn near the mandap and worshipped.
Chak Puja seeks divine blessings for a smooth, successful, and auspicious marriage.
The wedding concludes with the emotional Vidaai ceremony,
as the bride bids farewell to her parental home and begins her new journey.
