We made a full fakeaway date night dinner for under 600 calories each and less than £10 total - and it slapped.
If you're trying to stay on track with your fat loss goals but still want to enjoy proper food (and not feel like you're missing out), this one’s for you.
We kept it budget friendly, high protein (60g!!), and easy to throw together.

Starter: Sticky Chicken Bites
150 cals | 31g protein | 10g carbs | 4g fat (per person)
Ingredients (serves 2):
200g chicken breast
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp plain flour
1 tsp lazy garlic
1 tsp lazy chilli
Salt & pepper
Spray oil
Sauce: 1 tsp honey, 2 tsp sweet chilli sauce, 2 tbsp light soy sauce
Method:
1. Season chicken with spices, garlic, chilli and flour.
2. Air-fry or pan-fry with spray oil until golden.
3. Mix sauce, toss chicken through, and cook 1–2 mins until sticky.
Main: Crispy Beef Tacos
375 cals | 28g protein | 33g carbs | 9g fat (per person – 2 wraps each)
Ingredients:
200g 5% beef mince
1 shallot
1 tsp lazy garlic
1 tsp lazy chilli
1 tsp taco seasoning
1 tsp tomato purée
4 mini wraps
20g light cheese (5g per wrap)
Sauce: 1 tsp 5% Greek yoghurt, 1 tsp burger sauce
Method:
1. Fry shallot, garlic & chilli in spray oil.
2. Add mince and brown.
3. Stir in seasoning & purée with a splash of water.
4. Fill wraps with beef, cheese & yoghurt.
5. Pan-fry both sides until crisp and golden.
Dessert: Chocolate-Dipped Strawberries & Tea
82 cals | 1g protein | 5g carbs | 3g fat (per person)
Ingredients (for 2):
2 squares Galaxy chocolate (~10g total)
100g strawberries
