In this situation you must use psychology and verbal tactics to defeat your attacker. Start talking to your attacker, get your attacker thinking and answering your questions. These actions will make your attacker forget about slashing you. You need to pattern interrupt his thought process to make your defensive move.

In a mugging situation it’s usually recommended to give your belongings. But, there might be times when you need to fight back. You will need to follow your intuition.

In a knife fight you must be ready for the worse. You need to be ready to fight back with all you've got! Is someone is trying to mug you, it means they are ready for business. Therefore, you need to be prepared as well. This is crucial for your safety.
