Justice for Some offers a new approach to understanding the Palestinian struggle for freedom, told through the power and control of international law. Focusing on key junctures—from the Balfour Declaration in 1917 to present-day wars in Gaza—Noura Erakat shows how the strategic deployment of law has shaped current conditions. Over the past century, the law has done more to advance Israel's interests than the Palestinians'. But, Erakat argues, this outcome was never inevitable.

Noura Erakat:
She is a human rights attorney and assistant professor at George Mason University. She has served as legal counsel to the U.S. House of Representatives and as a legal advocate for Palestinian refugee rights at the United Nations. Noura's research interests include human rights and humanitarian, refugee, and national security law. She is a frequent commentator, with recent appearances on CBS News, CNN, Fox News, and NPR, among others, and her writings have been widely published in the national media and academic journals.

يُقدِّمُ كتابُ العدالة للبعض مقاربةً جديدةً لفهم الكفاح الفلسطيني من أجل الحرية، إذ تُسْرَد من خلال سلطة القانون الدولي وسيطرته. تُبيِّنُ نورا عريقات، بالتركيز على المنعطفات الأساسية في قضية فلسطين، بدءاً بإعلان وعد بلفور في عام 1917 وانتهاءً بالحروب الحالية على قطاع غزة، كيف عمل التعميم الاستراتيجي للقانون على خَلْق الظروف الحالية.
وعلى مدى سنوات القرن الماضي، بذل القانونُ المزيدَ من الجُهودِ لتعزيز وتغليب مصالح "إسرائيل" على مصالح الفلسطينيين. لكنَّ عريقات ترى أنَّ هذه النتيجة ليست بالضرورة محتومةً على الإطلاق.

نورا عريقات:
مُحامية في مجال حقوق الإنسان وأستاذة مُساعدة في جامعة جورج مايسون George Mason. عَمِلَتْ مستشارةً قانونية في مجلس النواب الأميركي، ومحاميةً قانونية لحقوق اللاجئين الفلسطينيين في الأمم المتحدة. تشمل اهتماماتُها البحثية حقوقَ الإنسان، والقانون الإنساني، وقانون اللاجئين، والأمن القومي. كما أنها متحدِّثةٌ ظهرتْ وتظهر بصورة متكررة على قنوات CBS، وCNN، وFox، وNPR الإخبارية، وغيرها، وتُنْشَرُ كتاباتِها على نطاقٍ واسعٍ في وسائل الإعلام والمجلات الأكاديمية.
