Apple TV+’s The Last Frontier is one of the most conflicting shows I’ve seen from the platform. Starring Jason Clarke, Dominic Cooper, and Hayley Bennett, the series follows a U.S. Marshal whose world is turned upside down after a prison transport crash unleashes dozens of dangerous inmates into the Alaskan wilderness. The premise is fire… but does the show actually live up to that potential?
In this review, I break down everything — the highs, the lows, the twists, the character arcs, the pacing issues, and why this show sometimes feels like Apple TV+… and other times feels like straight-to-Netflix energy. We talk about Jason Clarke’s performance as Frank Remnick, the true identity twist involving Havelock, the CIA conspiracy, those surprisingly emotional flashbacks, and the episodes that had me about to fall asleep.
