Story:
Nobody will believe how long I’ve wanted to host something like this. About 7 years ago, I had this idea to create intimate sessions with the feel and sound that I personally love so much.
But I quickly realized: I didn’t have the experience, the right partners – or the right space.
Fast forward to a conversation with Florian (the artist I recently featured! 😊), who told me about his event agency and a place called Areal Böhler – a truly unique location at the edge of Düsseldorf.
But this wasn’t just a venue suggestion. Areal Böhler actually initiated the idea, invited us to collaborate, and is co-hosting, funding, and providing the space for this entire concert series.
Their mission? Creating a platform where innovation, culture, and diversity come together – and where creative formats like this one can take shape. Set across 230,000 square meters of historic industrial architecture, Areal Böhler is evolving into a vibrant space where music, art, sports, food, and celebrations meet. It’s a place where history and future merge – a dynamic environment for working, gathering, and experiencing new ideas.
So when Florian asked if I’d consider doing APEIRON sessions here, I was skeptical at first. Would it fit visually? Acoustically? Conceptually?
But the moment I saw the space – and the people behind it – I knew: this was exactly what I had been looking for all those years. Together with the brilliant team from KULTUR & VERGNÜGEN and the open-minded spirit of Areal Böhler, we’ve created something very special – and this is just the beginning.
We’ll be hosting these sessions regularly, featuring artists from all over Europe. If you’re in Düsseldorf, come join us live – and if not, we’ll keep bringing them to you right here.
