The white lupin is considered a native grain legume with a high yield potential combined with a high protein content and favourable amino acid composition. Since the mid-1990s, the fungal disease anthracnose has stopped the cultivation of white lupin. With the approval of the first anthracnose-tolerant varieties FRIEDA and CELINA, cultivation of the protein queen is now interesting again.
