Tritoons have many variables to consider including weight, motor size to push the extra weight, Strakes that add 7% more wetted surface or parasitic drag, strakes that are usually spot welded from the factory and carry water inside them at speeds, an extra toon to push thru the water, and an engine mounted behind a fuselage (centertoon) which disturbs the water on centerline and flow over prop. Ask yourself, "How many planes do I see that are designed and built with the prop directly behind the center fuselage"?
