It’s easy to forget the importance of the air we breathe and live in. And while easily overlooked, the air surrounding us—as well as the pollutants in it—can actually have an impact on your skin’s health. Molekule’s Science Writer Hal King sits down for a conversation with a special guest: board-certified dermatologist, CEO and founder of Chicago-based skincare brand Tone, Dr. Caroline Robinson. Together, they dig deeper into what effects air pollution can have on our skin, what we can do to prevent it, and how to protect ourselves from it.
Consider checking out this interview if you’ve ever wondered what pollutants out there are affecting skin health most, whether there’s a difference between skin damage caused by the sun and skin damage caused by air pollution, what you can do to best prepare your skin for possible pollution exposure, and how to help best recover from it.
Dr. Robinson also touches on whether we should be doing anything different to take care of our skin in the time of COVID-19 and what kinds of precautions she and her team are taking in her Tone office during the current pandemic for extra layers of air protection (we asked her to try out Air Mini in her office—so if you guessed Molekule being one of them, you’re absolutely right).
Additionally, learn exactly what free radicals are, how to best ingest antioxidants to help protect your skin (internally, externally? Or maybe even both?), and more, in this interview with our special guest and dermatology expert.
