I finally got around to trying out the VEVOR Alaskan chainsaw mill, and while the mill itself was solid, I quickly realized my setup wasn’t going to cut it—literally. My chainsaw just didn’t have enough power to make milling worth the time and effort, so I ended up quitting halfway through my very first cut.
That’s not to say chainsaw mills don’t work—they absolutely can if you’ve got the right saw for the job. But in my case, it became clear that milling a log this way was going to take hours and hours, and that’s just not realistic for me.
