ABOUT THIS PROJECT
Over the last decade, fishermen in Pondicherry have encountered an increasing amount of plastic waste in their nets. Without proper waste management systems in place, this plastic often ended up back in the ocean, worsening the pollution crisis.
To address this challenge, CleanHub has partnered with Recity and Newton to support local fishermen in retrieving plastic waste from the ocean. While fishing plastic out of the water isn’t the most sustainable long-term solution, it’s an important step toward creating cleaner oceans and raising awareness about the need for better waste management systems.
