Hi there! Today I want to feature Lamp Black, by Winsor & Newton's Cotman Watercolors.

🎨 LAMP BLACK / COTMAN 🎨

I didn't talk about it a lot in the past, but this is actually one of the first tube paints I ever got!

I bought it alongside several other Cotmans, and found it very useful.

This one has a large variety of values, as well as great lightfastness. I think it's one of the best paints out there for doing monochromatic studies.

🎨 PAINT INFO 🎨

Pigment: PBk6 (Lamp black, made of lamp burned petroleum gas or wax).

Lightfastness (ASTM rating) - I (best lightfastness, if I'm not mistaken).

Permanence (Winsor & Newton internal scale) - AA (extremely permanent).

Opaque
Non-granulating
