The University of Tunis El Manar is a public administrative institution created in 1987 under the name "University of Sciences, Techniques and Medicine of Tunis" and it had its current name according to Decree No. 2000-2826 of 27 November 2000, changing the names of universities.
The University of Tunis El Manar is a multidisciplinary university. Most scientific fields are represented there: fundamental sciences, engineering sciences and techniques, economics, legal sciences, human sciences, computer sciences, medical and paramedical sciences, etc.


El Menzah Created for middle class and upper classes, it is a subdivision of residencies, villas and buildings. These subdivisions are numbered from I to X by date of creation, the number I, built in 1953 (now El Menzah I) and the following in the years 1990 and 2000.
