I decided to make a small adjustable power supply adapter that would use an ordinary cordless drill battery to power my 12v -24v DC tools. These include my Minicraft rotary tools, Proxxon sander, various other craft tools and my Miniware TS100 soldering iron. The idea was to make them portable so they could be used elsewhere, like in a car, boat, motorhome, garden or anywhere away from home.
For my first version of the adapter I used a common Makita LXT lithium battery. As the video shows, I had limited success with this first build. My testing revealed a few problems which I believe are due to protection built into the Makita battery circuitry.
I later built another adapter this time for a Worx lithium battery. This battery is common to many different power tool brands including Erbauer, Guild, Titan, Wesco, Ferrex, Workzone and JCB. This MK2 version was much more successful powering all my tools without issue. (Lookout for this in a future video)
