"Jump for Joy" by Duke Ellington was a groundbreaking musical revue that premiered in Los Angeles in 1941. Ellington, along with lyricist Sid Kuller and co-creator Paul Webster, used the show to address racial stereotypes and inequality in a bold and innovative way. Unlike traditional Broadway revues of the time, "Jump for Joy" celebrated African American culture and artistry while challenging racial prejudice through humor, satire, and uplifting musical performances.
