WELCOMETOSONY is a collaborative BMX video created by JP Andrés, who came up with the idea of capturing the street scene that’s growing stronger in Chile’s Fifth Region. The local scene is gaining momentum, and both national and international riders are coming through thanks to the wide variety of spots, skateparks, and DIY parks — and also inspired by the talent and vibe of the riders here, who are like one big family.
The video got its name, “WELCOMETOSONY,” from a funny glitch on the Sony VX2100E camera used during filming. Sometimes, the camera would randomly show a "demo" screen that could either ruin your best line — or become the start or end of an epic clip.
We also wanted to capture those random, spontaneous moments that happen during sessions. The whole thing was filmed and edited with the sole purpose of motivating and firing up the scene.
