Naqsh-e Jahan square
Naghsh’e Jahan Square is located at the center of Isfahan. It is one of the most beautiful sites in UNESCO’s World Heritage Sites. Four great buildings from Safavi era surround the square.
Ali Qapu Palace
‘Ālī Qāpū means great gate, as the name suggests it is the entrance to the Safavid palaces which stretched from the Naqsh-e Jahan Square to the Chahar Baq Boulevard. Six floors are visable there.
Imam mosque
The Imam mosque or shah mosque is a Shia mosque located on the south side of Naghsh-e Jahan Square. Shah Abbas I of Persia ordered to build it during the Safavid dynasty. Since all the mosques are directed to the Mecca, after entering the entrance gate of Imam mosque, there is a slight turn to the right so the yard of the mosque faces exactly Mecca’s direction.
Sheikh Lotfallah Mosque
Sheikh Lotfallah Mosque is a famous masterpiece of Iranian architecture, situated on the eastern side of Naqsh-e Jahan Square opposite side of Ali Qapu palace, which its rich interior and exterior tile ornaments attracts the attention of tourists.
Qeysarie Bazaar Gate
Qeysarie Bazaar, one of the oldest and largest bazaars of the Middle East, dates back to the 11th century. The modern structure, after some destructions, (built in the 17th century) is the longest roofed market in the world. The most selling products are carpets and traditional rugs.
