"Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas" is a song written in 1943 by Hugh Martin and Ralph Blane, who also wrote hundreds of other songs for MGM Studios. This song was introduced by Judy Garland who starred in and performed it in the MGM musical, "Meet Me In St. Louis". Frank Sinatra later recorded a version with modified lyrics, which we use here. In 2004 it finished at #76 in American Film Institute's top 100 song rankings in North American cinema. Judy's version of the song reached #27 on the Billboard Charts in 1944. The song has since been covered by 100's, if not 1000's of times including versions from notable artists such as Mel Torme' (who wrote an additional verse for it), Bing Crosby, Ella Fitzgerald, Michael Buble', Sam Smith, The Carpenters and even the heavy metal band Twisted sister. I am very proud of Mark's guitar playing and backing track; I had to work very hard to do it justice and we hope everyone likes the end result. We would also like to take the opportunity to thank all of our subscribers and listeners for their kindness and support this year - Happy Holidays to all!
