Subtext in Acting - Playing Your Objectives

What is subtext in acting? What are the underlying motivations your character has that aren't spoken in the dialogue? How can you play with subtext and your character's objectives to heighten the drama of a scene?

In this video, we take a look at subtext. I'll explain what it is and show you some examples. When you understand the needs and wants of your character and ask yourself some simple questions about what they think, feel and desire, then you can discover all sorts of options on how to approach a scene.
