Watch just about everything Amtrak’s got on the Pere Marquette Service! Heritage units, NPCUs, B32-8s, even a Cascades Service NPCU.
This is the first part in a miniseries celebrating 30 years of Amtrak’s Pere Marquette, August 5th, 2014.
Also of note, there are several consist variations not covered in this program. All the heritage units have been up here at one point or another, as with the Veteran’s unit.
The consist also has been single-level equipment in the past as well, before the standard consist of Superliners was introduced. Whenever the Supers are needed elsewhere, the PM reverts to single-level equipment.
Amtrak’s Pere Marquette operates daily between Grand Rapids, Michigan and Chicago, Illinois, with intermediate stops in Holland, Bangor and St. Joseph, Michigan. The train is made possible by funding made available by MDOT, and started service on August 5th, 1984.
