Puna Keli'iho'omalu at home in Kaimu, on Hawaii's Big Island. (Shot in the summer of 2009). Words cannot express how much you are missed. A hui hou, to a dear and beautiful Hawaiian man. May you rest in peace.
This short video was shot as an introduction to this special place, and to the extended 'ohana of Uncle Robert Keli'iho'omalu. In it, Puna plays the ukulele and sings one of his original compositions that speaks of his Aloha for this special area of the island. The surfing pictured was all shot at the newly evolving black sand beach in Kaimu; the surfers are Puna's nephews; the 'Awa Club remains a social gathering place for old-timers & visitors alike, and the genuine Aloha for all who visit is something you'll never forget. Believe me, I won't.
