Zhang Zhehan 张哲瀚 - Heart Towards the Sun 心若向阳 - translated English/Ch/Pinyin lyrics

As noted in the video, I translated this one by request left in the comments in the last ZZH lyric vid I did. It was...not the easiest job, let's say. I took ~many~ liberties; at one point I color coded the verbs because they were highly repetitive and also don't translate into English well. At. All. The main phrases were:
属于 shuyu, meaning "belongs to" or "pertains to"
叫醒 jiao xing, meaning "wakes up"
名叫 ming jiao, meaning "named" or "reputation"
住着 zhuzhe, meaning "lives in"

The direct/machine translation (which, if you're reading this, you have probably seen around) involves some incredibly awkward English results like "bird whisper wake up floral fragrance" and "tears named faith, frustration named growth." What can I say except that the words themselves in those lines read like classical Chinese poetry and not like normally spoken dialogue; it's more evocative, staccato, and poetic than direct and colloquial. For instance, I could not find a way to translate "birdsong wakes potpourri" (which is the same line as "bird whisper wake up floral fragrance") and so I left it a fragment with that same imagery, dropping the verb entirely (at least in the X wakes up Y format).

Which is all to say that I had to do a lot of interpretation about what many of the lines are actually meant to evoke, and to me I read this song as about the optimism and energy of youth, maturing to be strong and self-sufficient, taking that buoyancy and using it to overcome obstacles for the rest of one's life. (You might not be surprised to learn that Central Propaganda Department of the Communist Youth League was involved with the production of this song. -_- I regret that any ad revenue from this video will in part go toward the CCP's coffers in some way, so here's (me) hoping you take some personal, subversive, or other meaning from this song that counteracts that in some way.)
