The Helios 44 is one of the most fun lenses you can create with and it’s ridiculously cheap! In this video, I’m testing the Helios 44M 58mm f/2, a vintage lens from 1980 that I picked up for just £40, and showing you why photographers still love this piece of old glass.

The Helios is famous for its swirly bokeh, unique rendering, and character that modern lenses just can’t replicate. Shooting with a fully manual vintage lens slows you down, makes you think, and honestly… makes photography and video fun again.
