In this video you will learn how to replace speedometer gears also known as worm gear or pinion gear. First you need to remove the speedometer cable and then open the axle nut and completely remove the front axle. Take out the speedometer case and then hold and pull out the plastic gear that driven through the tire itself.
Inspect the
other gear which drives the speedometer cable if its good or need replacement too. To replace that one you need to open the lock then remove the bushing with the help of pliers and now you can either replace it or just clean and re grease it. Place the new or cleaned gear with greasing and do check if they are working like they meant to be or not.
Always remember to clean the gear box when replacing the speedometer gear and do apply the grease afterwards but not too much. Once everything is installed place back the speedometer gear box on the motorcycle and tight the front axle nut.
