Star Trek Enterprise Refit A 1/350 Polar Lights Model

This is my build of the 1/350 Polar Lights Refit. I built it as the Refit A version since there are many more reference photos due to the Christie's auction, where Jeff Bezos bought the original 7' studio model.

Almost 10 yrs old now, she is showing her age, but still looking great. The engines started to sag and cracks developed at the pylon bases, hence the guitar wire.

The A version is painted very differently from the TMP version. Details are in shades of blue instead of gray. The Secondary Hull is painted completely different, using an ugly patchwork aztec instead of the the beautiful iridescent patterns of the TMP version. The iridescent aztecs of the Primary Hull and the engines were preserved from TMP but highly dulled.

She took 2 yrs to build, 4 months just for testing the colors. The lighting is a kit from TrekModeler.com. This model is extremely accurate and can be used as a direct reference for the A version. Although I regret not doing the full hull and pylon lighting as well as not using an armature to keep it from sagging.
