For The Spine Race, the right backpack is crucial. The backpack must carry all your gear and supplies for the race while providing comfort and stability during long hours of running in challenging conditions.
You will need a lightweight, durable backpack specifically designed for endurance races like The Spine Race. It should have enough storage capacity to carry all mandatory gear, food, and water and fit comfortably on your back without causing discomfort or hindering movement.
The Montane Gecko 20 is the perfect size for me, and it feels comfortable on my back. The adjustable straps allow me to customize the fit to my body, ensuring maximum stability and comfort during the race.
This backpack can also be used for long races like Tor des Geants, but it may be a bit too big, depending on how much equipment you will be carrying. Definitely a bit too big for UTMB.
