Every 5 years I make a "Then and Now" Quake 1 video to see how things have improved, or not. Makes me wonder what these videos will be in 30 years?? Most likely, quantum hardware powered AI holograms with signals beamed into our brains or something like a Star Trek Holodeck. Hopefully that system doesn't get a virus... Anyway, this is a celebration of Quake in all its forms from the past & present. Looking forward to reading about what you love or hate about it, just remember to leave a Like, enjoy!!
This is the original DOS mode software rendered version of Quake from 1996. With the help of PCem, I got it to look how it did in the beginning. VS a newer source-port called vkQuake-rt using Nvidia hardware (my RTX 4060) that has ray-tracing.
