To make homemade chyawanprash,the primary ingredients are Indian gooseberries(amla),
Jaggery (or honey),and a specific mix of spices and herbs. The general process involves cooking the amla into a pulp, preparing the spice mix, and then combining them ghee and a sweetener to from athik jam.Like consistency.
Ingredients:-
1- Amla (Indian gooseberries):- 2-3 cups(approx. 500g-1kg)
2-Ghee (Clarified Butter):-1/3 to 1 Cup
3-Sweetener: 1 Cup Jaggery or 1 Cup honey (or a mix)
Grand spice mixture:
6-8 green cardamom (elaichi)
1 tbsp whole black pepper, 1 inch cinnamon stick
1 bay leaf,2 tbsp ginger powder,star anise,
