Son House recorded this during his Library of Congress sessions in 1941-42 • Son House - Depot Blues Strangely enough he never recorded the song again when he was rediscovered in the 60ies. I adapted the arrangement and added two solo's.
The meaning of "hanging crepe on your door" Google/ AI says : In the context of blues music, "hanging crepe on your door" is a metaphor for expressing extreme pessimism or a feeling of impending doom. It's a reference to a traditional mourning practice where black crepe was draped on doors and windows to announce a death. By using this imagery, the blues lyricist conveys a sense of deep sadness and negativity, often associated with a loss or a difficult situation.
My own artwork in the background, acrylic on canvas, inspired by Edward Hopper and David Tutwiler.
I'm playing a Greven L00v, body Cuban mahogany, adi top, based on a 1934 Gibson L00
