Build your own Gen 1 Honda insight Charger/Discharger rig.
Danger high voltages. Safety first.
Always wear rubber gloves.
Make sure the car and IMA battery main switch is off, and you have allowed a couple of minutes for capacitors to discharge.
Don't attempt this is you are not competent or confident to do so.
1) Charger.
2x Meanwell APC-35-350 (100V 350ma CC) led power supplies. £12 each.
Connect LED mains inputs in parallel.
Connect LED output in series for 200V HV DC output.
Use suitable length wires and small insulated crocodile clips for battery connections.
1 x Meanwell APV-16E-12 (12V DC 1A CV) led power supply used to drive battery fan. £10
For the fan wiring use small terminal block. The blue fan wire is 12V+ and the black is negative. Sorry forgot that in the video.
2) Discharger
1x 60w 240V incandescent bulb in a batten holder mounted on a piece of wood with small insulated crocodile clips on suitable length wires.
3) Pair of marigold rubber gloves for when fiddling with it.
