My first comment on this town is that I could move there tomorrow! I'm sure it has it's bad weather times of year but for the time we stayed here the weather was amazing. The lake and surrounds are amazing, the water is crystal clear and pure. I could go on and on...and on. Wanaka has all of the fun of Queenstown without the price tag. A definite if you are heading to the South Island of NZ.
THAT WANAKA TREE - I don't get the attraction of the tree in the water in comparison to how amazing the whole town and lake is but have included in this video.
