I've tried this same hack on 4 different brands of 1' beadlocks to date and it hasn't been necessary to vent the rim it's self, only the inner ring. I will say on the Treal wheels the air exchange wasn't great but I also only drilled 1 hole in each and the silicone inserts may be keeping the air in.
