SINOSSI
Gli otto racconti de La notte più bella, Quando l'America restò al buio, Otto storie degli anni sessanta (Piemme) di Daniela Palumbo raccontano da diversi punti di vista il black out del 9 novembre 1965 a New York. Ci sono due adolescenti spaventati che si mettono a chiacchierare su una panchina del Central Park e si trovano così bene da non voler andare via con i poliziotti venuti in loro soccorso, la ragazza che soccorre un uomo, gli fa compagnia in ospedale e scopre una meravigliosa storia su John Fitzgerald Kennedy, il barbone che conquista un posto come aiutante del parroco, le ragazze di un collegio femminile che escono di soppiatto per andare a ballare, il ragazzino timido che si sente dotato dei poteri dell’Uomo ragno… Palumbo racconta un attimo di sospensione in cui ognuno è spinto a ripensare alla propria vita e a fare cose che non avrebbe mai fatto, come accompagnare un lupo ferito dalla madre o salire sulla luna a bordo di una coperta…

SYNOPSIS

There are two scared teenagers who start chatting on a bench in Central Park and are so happy that they don't want to leave with the policemen who come to their rescue, the girl who helps a man, keeps him company in the hospital and discovers a wonderful story about John Fitzgerald Kennedy, the homeless man who gets a job as the parish priest's assistant, the girls from a girls' college who sneak out to go dancing, the shy boy who feels he has the powers of Spider-Man... Palumbo tells of a moment of suspension in which everyone is pushed to rethink their lives and do things they would never have done, like accompanying a wounded wolf from its mother or climbing to the moon on board a blanket...
