Demo of the Germino Lead 35 using a '57 Conversion Les Paul with vintage '50s PAFs, ABR1, tailpiece, Centralabs and bees. Cabinet is a 1x12 with vintage JBL D120....
Great amp!!!... Finally found that lower power amp that REALLY does sound like a plexi. Sounds very similar to my early '69 100w Super Lead but at a more manageable volume, but still loud if you need it to be!... According to Greg this amp copies the '68 50w Plexi circuit but with custom trannies that bring it down to 35w. More tech info at his site. Obviously a vintage 100 watter will have a bit more headroom and girth, but this amp still gives me plenty of tight bottom end and cleans up extremely well with a roll down of guitar volume. Just like any good plexi should!...
I am playing the amp with volume one high treble input on 10. There is a PPI master mounted on the back which is set at around 8 knocking the volume down just a bit. It's still pretty loud, this is gigging volume for my two drummer band! I wanted to do a demo that captures this amp at full throttle in all its glory. In fact for me the sweet spot of this amp is main volume on ten! Everything opens up, you still get plenty of clarity, with great harmonics and swell... Oh yeah!
