Destined for the tip ( rubbish dump) many years ago, an elderly organ player saved this 1960's Conn 650 organ. After ripping the defunct insides out, he rewired keyboards and installed Artisan midi circuit boards, then he installed Hauptwerk Virtual organ software.
Before it was fully finished he died. A new owner Barry Moore of Brisbane Australia acquired the timber instrument and with friends help got the midi side of it nicely functioning.
He then spend about 8 months continuing to bring it to new life as a Paramount 320 Wurlitzer. Although totally deaf in the left ear and almost deaf in his right ear, he persevered and with cochlea bone bridge implant and strong hearing aids, he can now enjoy the fruits of his labours. You can too with his YouTube videos.
A tinkerer and handy old guy, he has devised ways of adding functionality and additions to the Hauptwerk 4 Paramount 320 Wurlitzer Theatre pipe organ program.
This video is one of several showing some clever hacks and ideas to improve the organ and enhance functionality during performance.
