Special Incident Award
Awarded to a specific clinical/operational team who demonstrated exceptional skills and teamwork on a particularly challenging mission. Sponsored by Babcock.

Our crew were called to patient with an arterial bleed from a major vessel. On arrival the crew found the patient was being attended to by an off-duty nurse and a West Midlands Ambulance Service crew who had applied haemostatic gauze and were applying pressure with a knee to the groin. This job showed exceptional decision making, improvisation, teamwork and haemorrhage control. Thanks to the work of the emergency services, the patient’s life was saved.
