In this #GenerativeAI Seminar Series talk, Professor Peter Bryant (University of Sydney Business School) examined how Generative AI is transforming higher education. From assessment design and academic integrity to curriculum, student experience, and employability, AI is reshaping the foundations of teaching and learning.
While engagement with AI is often complex and challenging, it also opens up critical opportunities for innovation. This session highlighted the urgent debates facing the sector and explores the “third spaces” that emerge as institutions and individuals respond to rapid technological change. Drawing on practical examples, Peter showed how higher education can navigate crisis and complexity while re-imagining its role in fostering creativity, adaptability, and new ways of knowing.

About the speaker
Peter Bryant is Professor of Business Education and Associate Dean (Education) at the University of Sydney. He has over 30 years of international experience in higher education strategy, innovation, and digital learning, with previous leadership roles at LSE, the University of Greenwich, and Middlesex University.
